EECP is a non-surgical, out patient procedure that is designed to reduce the symptoms of angina and help those suffering from heart failure. It may be suitable for those patients who have undergone other procedures but have not had lasting relief from their symptoms.
Enhanced - Refers to the EECP equipment, which has evolved with years of research and development.
External - EECP works externally, outside of the body, increasing coronary blood flow and decreasing the amount of work the heart must do to pump blood around the body.
CounterPulsation - Describes how the blood is pushed back towards the heart between heart beats, increasing blood flow to the heart muscle and decreasing the workload, lowering the heart’s demand for oxygen.
